The algaeinfo is intended to provide current information on the algal situation in Norwegian waters. The information is published by the Institute of Marine Research in co-operation with Oceanor, Ministry of Fisheries and Norwegian Institute for Water Research. If you require information (in Norwegian only) about whether shellfish are edible or not, we recommend the The Norwegian Food Safety Authority website.

We are no entering the winter situation in Norwegian water, with low density and diversity in the phytoplankton. For that reason this will be the last “algaeinfo” in 2013. New “algeinfo” will be publish when the springblom accurse in February.
